Recently, our Executive Director Ranie Thompson and Director of Development Libby Kiger sat down for an interview with Inside Philanthropy, for an article that spotlights some of the disability-focused organizations that received awards from Mackenzie Scott's Yield Giving Open Call.
In the article, reporter Laurie Udesky described us as an organization that's "primed to grow its work." She highlights DRLA's substantial responsibility as the sole organization that safeguards the rights of the disability community in a state where the disability rate is more than double the national average. As an example of our impact, she spotlights our bold and successful efforts to bring justice and equitable opportunities to people with disabilities who are incarcerated and who are returning to the community, through our impact litigation work and our first-of-its-kind reentry programming for people with disabilities.
