Disability Rights Louisiana mourns the loss of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Justice Ginsburg’s unrelenting pursuit of justice and equality has paved a hard fought path to righteousness, inclusion and opportunity for the historically disenfranchised and perpetually undervalued.
Justice Ginsburg’s affirmation in the landmark Olmstead v L.C. decision solidified the rights of individuals with disabilities to live and receive supports and services in the community of their choosing, alongside their non-disabled peers, and beyond the shadows of isolation and segregation.
For this and so many other profound contributions, we honor her legacy and celebrate her life.
