A family member of a group home resident contacted their CLOP Ombudsman to report that the resident wanted to move out of the group home into the community on a Medicaid waiver. The Ombudsman spoke to the client, visited the home, wrote a LDH health standards complaint, and worked with Medicaid Fraud Unit of the Attorney General’s Office to help the resident obtain the waiver so they could move into the community. As a result, the client received a waiver and selected her provider for the waiver.
