Eligibility
- To be eligible for DRLA’s employment services, an individual must:
- be a Louisiana resident; AND
- have a physical, mental, or intellectual disability; AND
- receive SSI or SSDI; OR
- be seeking, receiving, or denied services under the Rehabilitation Act (such as Louisiana Rehabilitation Services, American Indian Rehabilitation Services, or Supported Employment Workshops)

DRLA provides education and training on the following:

- Physical or programmatic access to universities and vocational/training schools
- Ticket to Work issues such as eligibility, work plan implementation, private provider issues, and conflicts about services to be provided
- Consultation, negotiation, and/or representation at administrative and court hearings
Recent Successes
- DRLA helped a person with physical disabilities obtain and Braille display from Louisiana Rehabilitation Services so that he could complete the tasks required for a promotion at work.
- DRLA helped a person with an intellectual disability in sheltered employment receive a fair rate of pay by advocating for a time and motion study of the client’s work.
- DRLA helped a student realize his dream of attending a 4-year university with financing obtained through Louisiana Rehabilitation Services.
