A person with cerebral palsy contacted DRLA when he experienced discrimination in the workplace. He had been denied requested reasonable accommodations by his employer, and then terminated. Our staff attorneys represented this client against the offending employer who initially, flatly refused any type of settlement agreement. The client’s main desire was to return to the job with reasonable accommodations, and he also hoped to be awarded some back pay.
Through our staff attorneys representation of this client in two different forums, and our continued efforts to advocate and negotiate on his behalf, we were able to achieve a settlement which resulted in the employer reinstating the client’s employment, along with all of his requested accommodations. Within weeks of returning to the job, the client received the majority of the back pay he was seeking.
