Client Assistance Program (CAP)

What is the Client Assistance Program?

The Client Assistance Program (CAP) helps people with disabilities who are trying to access employment and education through Louisiana Rehabilitation Services (LRS) and American Indian Rehabilitation Services (AIRS).

We can help you understand what kind of support you can get from LRS and AIRS.

If you are being denied services that would help you pursue employment, your CАР advocate can find out why.

If your rights are being violated, CAP may be able to provide legal aid or advocacy to help you get the services necessary to become employed.

  • You have the right to be evaluated for services and be informed of your acceptance or denial in writing.
  • You have the right to participate in the planning and delivery of services in a reasonable amount of time.
  • You have the right to services tailored to your needs.
  • You have the right to confidentiality and respect.
  • You have the right to ask questions and to have an advocate or representative present.
  • You have the right to an explanation of any policy or procedures that may affect you.

What can a CAP Advocate do for you with LRS/AIRS?

  • Help you understand the process and your responsibilities.
  • Simplify and clarify the complicated language of LRS policies, services, and procedures.
  • Assist in helping you use services to their fullest potential.
  • Help protect your rights. Educate and advocate with you as an active partner.
  • Assist you in appealing denied services.
